Default 3M invisible bra protector

I just bought a Z and am interested in getting it sealed with the 3M invisible bra protectant. My dealer says he doesn't know anything about it, but I heard about it from another dealer. I'm in Chicago and sure would like the front of the car protected against rocks and nicks! Can someone advise?

You may look on the X-Pel or Invinca-Shield dealer finder web sites if you can't find anybody.

Nashville doesn't have any installers. Maybe somebody here can post a good reference for Chicago.

Geneva,
Call Jim Stangohr of Pro-Tech 847-502-7003. He installed my X-pel 3M clear bra. He came to the house and did an excellent install. Tell him Bob from Batavia sent you.

Thanks, I'm in Naperville so it should be convenient. Was it costly and do you think it was worth it?

The way I look at it, if you are going to spend $30,000 bucks on a car then spending $500 to protect it is not really an issue. It is a lot cheaper to protect it then it is to re-paint it!! Just my .02 cents!! I have it on my car and I know that I rest easier when I am on the road behind one of those #)O()#(#**@ dump trucks!!

Geneva - I'm in the Aurora/Naperville area too. Although I don't have a Z yet, I'm interested in seeing what the 3M invis bra looks like in person. If possible, let me know if we can meet up somewhere after your Z's been done.

Thanks!

Default 3M bra - durability?

I'm supposed to get delivery of my Touring 6MT chromesilver within the next 6 weeks. The 3M bra sounds good, but does anyone have long-term experience (3-7 years) with these products (on other than a 350Z, natch)?

The warrantee says 5 years, but how do these things look as they degrade, get hit by rocks, etc?
What does the car look like when you finally remove the film?

TIA

When you take the clear bra off of your car the adhesive used is strong enough to hold to your car but not strong enough to take your paint off. It should come off and then you can use some sap/bug remover to get the little bit of adhesive off. And your car is good as new!!! It is a material that you take car of just like your car, when you wax your car you wax the clear bra too and it still will look good. If you have any other questions you can email me at autransam@earthlink.net and let me know when you get your car if you need a kit.
