Default How do you keep the engine bay clean?

What's the best way to keep the engine bay clean? I want my car to look just as good under the hood as it dows on the outside, but, I can't just hose it down with water.

Here are 2 posts about the subject and other detailing methods. The first one is on the same page as yours. You must have missed it.

Default Sillicone Spray and AIR???

I "heard" that you can take a new engine, and spray it down with Silicone Spray sold in a can (NOT those engine detailers) and then frequently use Compressed Air to blow things out such as dust. I guess the thought is the silicone keeps things from sticking from the start and the air loosens things up along the way.

???

Thanks, I did a search for "engine bay, but did not see. Probably just overlooked. Jimmy, are you talking about that stuff that's used to blow dust and stuff out of the computer keyboard? I used to have a can of that. Never thought about using that.

I use a AIR COMPRESSOR........ I dont think that you would want to use that little can of compressed air for that. I found that with the compressor as long as you stay on top of keepin it blown out, you dont ever have to wipe it down!!!!!!!

As another stated... an air compressor. Those little cans wont cut it.

More things to buy!!

Silicone has always been bad for sensors, and now you want to put it air born? I'm not sure about this.
