STICKY ME! Detailing Sessions by Brad4rdHay
Great guide, brings together the MANY aspects of detailing. One thing though: polishing doesn't necessarily mean using an abrasive. Wouldn't want a bunch of people putting swirl marks into their shiny new Zs... You should really just use a non-abrasive polish, only resorting to polishing/rubbing compound for tough spots (i.e. stubborn spots of bird crap that won't come off). If you're going to apply a carnauba wax, I recommend 3m hand glaze and p21s paint cleaner. If you're using a synthetic sealant, use whatever came with it. I use Klasse All-in-one followed by High gloss sealant, and finally a coat of p21s concours wax. Anyway, thanks for doing the work and putting together such a complete guide.
Thanks VQ for the headline...I almost forgot I wrote it.
Theres no such thing as a NON-abrasive polish, its an oxymoron of sorts. Abrasive just means it has abrasive molecules that physically work to burnish the finish...doesnt mean it has to remove massive amounts of paint. Your Klasse AIO contains a polish. It will physicaly work on the paint. Something that just uses thick oils to fill in marks is called a glaze: this would be your 3M imperial hand glaze.
