how does it respond to washing? I want to regularly Zaino my Z, so i am worried about how that will affect it, although i love the potential for a clear bra. Can't do anything like a black vinyl bra to disrupt the beauty of the Z.

Just wash and wax the car like its not there. I would wait about a week after the install to let it a good chance to "cure" on the car and would avoid quater wash bays. I doubt you would do that anyway. The biggest issue will be wax along the edges so start with the wax cloth on the film and wax away from the edge, not back into it and this will make it easier to take a cloth and using your fingernail inside the cloth to run down the edges( or a detailing brush). Of course the less edges edposed means less edge to collect wax. The Dynashield kit has the fewest exposed edges to collect wax and debris

I have a few questions regarding these types of clear bras....

-Do they fade over time?
-I drive near rock quarries....What happens to the bra when a rock hits it. I assume it will leave a mark in the bra????
-Over time...Do hairline scratches or swirl type marks become visible and what is the remedy to remove them.

Thanks in advance!

Has anyone been brave enough to try a DIY install and succeeded? Any pics?

This is what a gravelometer test did to the film. It basically simulated years of tailgating dump trucks. After 3 years, I have a few of these reminders of where my paint was saved.

Plexus will remove swirl marks and fine scratches. I have heard but never tried, that using a mild rubbing compound will get most scratches out.

Thumbs up

I also had my clear bra installed by Edre at Envisage Design Labs. Great price and very professional.

So far the bra has saved my car from more then just flying debris. It has saved it from my own stupidity. :-D A week ago, I was pulling into a parking space with a concrete stop infront. The Concrete stop happened to sit on an uneven spot and was higher then enticipated. And stupid me pulled in to the spot too far. The front lip under the intake dragged pretty horribly on the concrete. That was one of the spots protected by the clear bra. The 3M film was scratched pretty badly. When I took the car into Envisage the next day to have that piece of film replaced, they removed the film and there wasn't a scratch on the paint!! Daniel at Envisage took some pretty detailed pictures of before and after removal of the damaged film, you can ask them for the picts if you wish.

THANK YOU Envisage & 3M for saving me from my own stupidity!

DO NOT try it, beleive me.

I have my wifes Jetta done, and I got extra pieces so I could do the headlights (he said he couldn't b/c it wasn't DOT approved yet).

The Jetta Headlights are VERY square and you'd think, very easy to do. I have much experience installing custom sticker kits on Bikes, Motocylces and helmets, so I am family with working with adhesives. I couldn't believe how hard, just the jetta lights were to do (I am sure an installer would laugh at this post, since the jetta should be that easy).

Do NOT try it as a DIY.
