I should be getting my new G35 Coupe in about a week or so. I've been reading about the clear protection film that 3M makes and with the highway miles I drive, it sounds like a good idea. So my question is, should I use a polish like Zaino on the car before I have this done to make sure the paint is pristine? And after I have it done can I apply Zaino over top of it? I assume it would do no good to use a polish over top of it (I assume it may actually harm it, or make it cloudy) but what about Z-2?

 

You can use it after they install the clear bra. Im sure you could use it before they do it also but I think in the install process they will use something to remove the wax and buildup on the area they apply the bra.
Your bra wont cloud or anything if you wax it. In fact, To me it seems like it helps it.

Hey, No Problem. The clear bra is to this day still the best thing ive to my Z.
Over 10k miles and not a single rock chip.
Great investment.

 

Do not apply any kind of wax/polish before you get the clear bra put on. In fact, just to be sure, i would dawn wash your bumper right before you drive down to put the clear bra on. I wouldnt wait more than a week either between the time you take delivery and the time you have this done.
