Default New Paint Oxidizing?

Got my front bumper repainted and I was supposed to bring it back to have it wetsanded but my work schedule didn't allow me so I just thought I would do it myself. After about a month of letting the new paint cure it began to also "oxidize" or create a chalky or powdery coat on the paint. I got sick of seeing and finally got down to business today. First, I put soap and 1500 grit sandpaper in a bucket and let it sit for about 10 mins then I sanded the whole front bumper till it was white and dull with light to medium pressure. It looked like **** and I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to bring it back. Next I used an orbital buffer with 3M rubbing compound and that took away alot of the scratched up, dull look. Next I used to Meguiar's Deep Crystal Polish and that brought the shine out better than I expected and I was no longer worried. As the final step I used the Meguiars #7 Glaze. It looks great and the oxidization is gone. I will apply a coat of wax tomorrow. Will the oxidization return? Any body shop professionals tell me if I did anything wrong or if I am missing a step?

New paint can sometimes "shrink" as it cures, and looks very dull / leaves lines all over the paint.

In order to correct this, you'll need a rotary, wool pad, heavy polish to REALLY get the cutting required. Orbital will not be enough (been there ...)

I had a door repainted once and for whatever reason, the paint shrunk in a months period. It was strange to me becasue i've had other parts of my car painted numerous times and it never happened. Apparently, the bodyshop said that this normally occurs if the door wasn't stripped to bare metal and painted.

Well whatever it was, that is the route you will have to take. Simply, an orbital or by hand will be too difficult to fix it.
