the majority of this forum is full of idiots like you. I guess anyone who really wants to know how to detail a car will use autopia and get the real facts.

Autopia.org is the premier site for car care and detailing. It is the MY350Z.COM for the detailing pros.

Autopians love the Cali-Duster just as much as the rest of us.

That's why I wasn't sure if he was referring to that site or not. I love autopia.org - I've been a member since 2001!

I know this thing is supposed to get better the dirtier it gets, but mine is filthy, I feel bad rubbing this filth across the paint....I guess you cant wash it cuz the wax in it will wash away?

Buy a new one.

I've only used mine a few times over the last year. But if you use it frequently, it's probably worth it to replace it once in a while.

I have one that is SEVEN years old...and I still use it on some cars.

Give a fug bout swirl marks because none show up.

I guess because I only use it on a nice layer of wax.

There are instructions in the FAQ on the CaliDuster website:

http://www.calcarduster.com/faq.asp

Cold water and Woolite should do it.

for everyone saying that its great:

some of you have had great experiences with it, some haven't.

just think about it. whether you are lightly dragging or slamming it down on the car. it is still collecting dust and other particles and "dragging" them across your paint(lightly dragging or not)

for me quick detailer and a *very* clean microfiber is the way to go

And how exactly do you wipe that quick detailer off your car without rubbing the MF towel across the surface?

I was thinking the exact same thing. The duster does a GREAT job of lifting the dust off. Sure it will probably drag a little but there is NO way that anything is NOT going to drag. Even if you hose your car off then wash with a lambs wool mit, you are still dragging some dirt across the finish. It is unavoidable, just as swrils marks are. And the guy with the BMW picture must be smoking something if he thinks those marks were left by one use of a duster. Looks like he used 100 grit samdpaper to me.

Someone else said it earlier but I think the most important thing is to have a solid protective coating on your car. I personally use Zainos and it makes a very hard surface. I use my duster almost everyday on my SB and it has not caused any swirls.

the QD lubricates the paint when you use the microfiber. i would not ever do it dry.

but for what its worth, i dont use it. i'd just rather wash the car again. but if i *had* to, thats what i would do. i trust a nice microfiber more than i do something like the cali duster. and if i did do it, i would switch up towels at least every section of the car

but anyways. right now my paint isnt anywhere close to the way i want it so im not a good example, i just know how i tried to keep my old car which was black and the paint was very soft
