I was skeptical at first too. I had the same arguments as everyone else.

But I eventually got sick of having a clean but dusty car....so I gave in.

Just follow the directions and you'll be fine!

I've got one too, love the thing. The back of my car and the doors just behind the front wheels are covered in dust, dirt, and brake dust just minutes after leaving my house after a wash. It's annoying as hell! But the Cali duster removes it all with almost no work. Love this thing!!!

We use the duster on all our cars(nextstage). It's really handy at the outside carshows, especially when dust and pollen are flying everywhere. If you keep your wheels waxed, to prevent brake dust from sticking, and keep your car in the garage out of rain you can usually go all month without having to wash your car. I usually wipe the entire car down, sometimes the engine too. Not a bad product for under 20 bucks. Haha, my GF likes how the chemicals in the Duster smell too. She's wierd like that.

I am sure it works as advertised. My issue with it is the parafin wax. I use Zaino on my car so I prefer not to add parafin wax on top so that i can wash the car and add more Z2 without the parafin getting in the mix.

I wish Zaino came out with one that had Z2 in it.

I stick with the Z6 detail spray and some large MF clothes.

It doesn't actually transfer any wax onto your car though. The wax just helps it pick up the dust (like a dust magnet).

i disagree, a lot of people there hate it. How is rubbing dirt/dust/pollen into your paint not going to swirl it?

My car is a proven result as well. I don't know why you're arguing about something you've never tried.

PS: you don't have to say 'real facts', you can just say 'facts'.

hey i use it for pollen..... so i dont have a clue how it could scratch my paint.... its not like i have dried mud on my car and RUB it off.... you just glide it over the body... no pressure (i even lift it up a bit so only the hairs of the duster touch the paint)

its only 9bucks at target... if you never tried it.... try it.... if you dont like it throw it away or send it my way.... its only 9 bucks

I have said it before and will have to say it again: Cali duster created micro-marring on my car right before my eyes in bright sunlight. Had used it many times prior to that, but always in dimly lit parking garages, so never noticed any scratches. I followed the whole pre-use procedure...covering in newspaper and changing it out a few days later for another day or two. Wax streaks disappeared after the first few uses. I always stored it in its container and never used it on lower body panels.

I wish I had shot video that day of the duster's live "performance". I threw it in the trash and swore never to buy one again. I have been very active on Autopia in the past month or so and noticed how many members there had the same experience with the Cali Duster as I did.

To each his own, of course. But it is always better to know of the bad experiences along with the good ones.

Well, after several years on this board I've only seen two or three out of several hundred Duster owners claim that it scratched their cars. Are the rest of us just lucky?

I've been to numerous car shows where you see the duster handle sticking out of the detailing tools of practically every show entrant. These are people, more anally-retentive than most of us about their cars. Do you think they would touch their concours show cars with anything that might harm it?

Your choice is to either wash your car regularly, which if you don't know the proper methods for washing and drying, is a sure fire way to get swirls; or to use the Cali duster regularly and wash it a whole lot less often.
