cleaning volk polished lip
Hi, I don't know if anybody has posted this topic before, but I have volk gt-c about a year and wanted to know what is the best way to clean the polished lip w/o scratching it badly. I have been using just water with microfiber sponge, but yesterday when I put more pressure, I made a big scratch about half way of the front rim. I know it's impossible to clean w/o making any surface scratches, but the one I've made yeterday is pretty deep.
just got my volks 2 weeks ago. curious on what to use as well. i noticed that the shine on the lip was never as "mirror" like as it was the first day i got the wheels, regardless of how clean they are.
I don't even own the things so take my advice for what it's worth, but I remember reading about someone trying to polish out a scratch and it removed the clear coat and looked like crap. So be very careful whatever you do. May just have to live with it.
dont use a clay bar. Clay isn't used for removing scratches but for removing old wax and contaminents. Depending on the depth of the scratches you can hand buff them out with some very light compund or just stick with the wax. When cleaning your car dont use anything else but Micro fiber towels

Zaino works great for protecting your paint against future damage from bug guts but it won't help repair existing damage.
I've been able to take some bug hits and not wash it till the next day with no damage. Bugs mess just glides right off when you've got a few layers of Zaino on the front end.
