Yes I know.....Wheel Cleaner
So i have my stock rims. I hate them and will be getting new rims at the end of the summer. Most Likely Hyper Black 278's.
Now today out of curiosity I went to Auto Zone to check out their wheel cleaners. There was an Eagle One, Black Magic, Meguiars, and a few others.
Other than soap and water, then waxing your wheels... what wheel cleaner isnt bad for your rims but will clean them off nicely... i have some brakedust that will not come off in some areas nomater how hard i scrub. And if I get a wheel cleaner I wouldnt want it to destroy the new rims im getting.
Any opinions on whats best? They all cost 6 bucks so its basically down to what people think is better

I just use car wash soap and water...wheel wax actually cleans and protects. I've read people saying that they had spots that wouldn't come off until they used wheel wax on it. I have hyper black 277s and use metal polish on the lips and wheel wax on the spokes--works well
Basically you want a NON-acidic wheel cleaner that doesn't have the possibility of damaging your wheels. Not sure if the products you listed are acidic or not. A very popular one that a lot of people use is Eimann Fabrik Hi Intensity Cleaner. I believe it's a tire and wheel cleaner in one.
thanks guys... censsa how does it work? I mean i trust Megiuars 100%.... actaully all my cleaning products are made by them I just never read a review of their Hot Rims product
Also to the guy with the 277's.... how do you like them? You got any pics of them on your car? I was thinking about those too

I have also been using meguiars hot rims cleaner for years now. Real easy, just spray on, wait 10-15 seconds and rinse. If you have a nice pressure spray from a hose nozzle, you can take 90% of the dust off then wipe up the rest with a towel.

Good-luck,
Good-luck,
I'm impressed! I'm VERY impressed . . . .
Thank you, cessna! That is an amazing product. I'm usually not one to go about ranting and raving over a product, but this stuff really worked!
I just spent an hour or so removing the past three year's worth of brake dust from my recently purchased "used" Z car . . . the previous owner didn't do this but it looks like the car was well taken care of otherwise.
MY WHEELS LOOK LIKE NEW! woo-hoo!
And also, thanks Davidv! I took your advice and got that brush, too. You really do need it.
Wow! I can't get over how great my wheels look! Thanks again. I know I'm in the right place now.
