Default Lovebug Damage

Hey all..

So heres the deal. I bought my Z, and the whole front bumper is COVERED with damage from love bugs!! The previous owner obviously did not clean it at all and just let the bugs destory the paint!

So my question is how do I fix this problem? It's primarily in the front bumper, but there is also a few marks in the paint on the hood.

Can anyone give me some suggestions to try???

Thanks in advance

have it painted. doesn't cost that much.

Once it is repainted and the paint is cured get a clear bra to protect it from such things.

yeah.. I know that, appearantly the previous owner did not

Alright, well what kind of pricing is it for the front bumper alone? I need to see if it's worth it to have it repainted or just go ahead and buy my new one now.

your looking around 250.00 for a good paint job.

a new bumper would cost you 250.00 + 250.00 for painting. is there a whole or something in the bumper? why would you need a new one?

I mean an aftermarket one. Thought maybe I would search around for someone selling one and go from there.

Have you tried the clay bar and some cleaner wax. give that a shot and see if it helps.

yes, I tried a good amount of "claying" and then wax, nothing. It's in the actual paint I believe so that rules that out. Oh well.

Anyone sellin a SS bumper of some type???

Take the bumper off and bring it to Carsmetics. Drop it off in the morning and you can have it back that afternoon. The reason I say to take it off and bring it in is because there's always a chance of overspray since they would most likely not remove it from the car to paint it. Shouldn't cost more than $200 from them, you could even have them paint the slats in the grille while it's there, that always looks kinda different.

I'm assuming you saw the paint damage when you bought the Z? I mean, you inspected the vehicle and knew it was there before you negotiated your price right?
