Default Anyone ever wax wheels ?

Im getting a new set of volks. Has anyone used wheel wax or some other kind of wax on clear coat wheels. I dont want to mess them up as soon as i get them by using something i shouldnt. I was thinking of using the new Ice wax, if its safe for paint it should be ok right? Mothers Top Coat is not supposed to have any cleaners so i was thinking of that too.

Im not ever going to use a wheel cleaner, just car soap. But i thought if i had a coat of wax it would help keep them cleaner and safer. What does everyone think.

Yes. Care for wheels (even the OEM wheels) the same as you do the exterior of the car.

I use some Meguairs Gold Class on the wheels, really any car wax should work fine, but since they are clear coat like the car its makes them lips so smooth and shiny....

IMO tire gel makes a huge difference. I would recommend trying it. I use the meguiars tire gel.

I bought 2 cans of wheel wax this morning. I'm in the process of removing the wheels and waxing inside and out. I have AP Racing BBK f &R so I have a little less brake dust than stock. I will post results next week.

Today used Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish, followed by Wheel Wax......perfection!

Mike (likes having polished wheels with no clear coat)

Tire Gel is for tires right, not wheels?

dont use tire gel, its not a wax. You can use any kind of carnuba wax, as stated it will help keep brake dust build ups. Most import is to apply with a Micro Fiber towel, dont touch any surface of your car with any but a micro fiber towel.
