Mother's billet polish is what I prefer. Works really well, but the $11 price tag will deter some folks.

I use Meguiar's Metal Polysh on the exterior of the exhaust and I use a different slightly more abrasive metal polish on the inside to remove the carbon buildup works a treat. I have a really think carbon build up on my exhaust. There doesn't seem to be a definative answer on thick carbon build up. (Mine is about as thick as a coat of paint)

You say you use something slightly more abrasive on the inside of the exhaust... what would that be?

I use Mother's Metal Polish with a 000 grade steel wool pad for the INSIDE of the exhaust tip. It took the carbon build up right off. The steel wool is very fine in texture that removes the carbon build up by scratching/scraping it off.
But for the outer part of the exhaust tip, instead of a steel wool pad I use a microfiber towel or old t-shirt.

Hey there, unfortunately the product I use to clean the inside of the exhaust is a product made in NZ (as that's where I am), I don't think they have online buying. Pity as it's brilliant stuff.

I would perhaps suggest the Mothers Metal Polish as a good alternative. The Meguiar's isn't quite tough enough to clean the carbon of thoroughly off the inside. I use Meguiar's towels to put on the metal polish and a different one to clean off residue. Mucky, but great result. Also remember to keep your towels clean for best result.

Usually will go over with a very soft tissue afterwards to ensure every last drop of residue is off.

I'd take pictures, but I've loaned my camera to a friend.

Haha, best of all anyone else in the club following always get a kick out of how shiny the inside of the exhaust is too!!!

Hi kwiker, my personal opinion, either the Meguiar's or the Mother's would be fine. Both are good products.

Turtle Wax chrome and metal polish. It's cheap and gets the job done wonderfully.

I have the Titanium Fujitsubu exahust, and was wondering how to clean it also. I have some Eagle 1/Never Dull metal clean at home, the one that comes in the canister & you peel a piece off to buff with. I'll try it for the carbon on the inside of my tips.

The question I have is: I just purchased the ARC titanium engine cooling panel. It has a few minor scratches I'd like to remove. Anyone have any safe suggestions for scratch removal on this titanium part?

Nevermind, the Never Dull took the scratches right out. It worked beautifully on the titanium.

Another little tip for cleaning, inside your exhaust tips, this is best done when you're washing your car, so any moisture that is around will help to loosen the carbon build up, and not suggesting squirting the water into the tips.

Then you can use a little bit of metal cleaner of your choice, it should come up beautifully. I'd do before an after picys of my Z's exhaust tips, but they are done every week so there's hardly any difference. lol
