My first application of CrystalGuard went pretty well. It had been a while since I last washed my car, so I did a complete wash with my Z***o car wash first. I then went over the car twice, once with the CrystalGuard wash, and then again with the CrystalGuard quick. I did have the problem with the wash nozzle getting hard to spray about half way through. The last half of the car was kind of a pain because of this, but otherwise, the whole process was very easy. I have a clearbra installed, so beforehand, while I was washing the car, I paid extra attention towards making sure the line across the hood was as clean as I could get it. Before I bought Zaino everyone said that it dried clear, and wouldn't be visible on the edges of the bra, but that didn't turn out to be the case. Anyway, when I applied the CrystalGuard Quick, I wiped down the hood, towards the edge of the clear bra, in an attempt to leave some residue there at the edge, to see how visible it would end up a few days later. So far, I can't see anything along the seam, but I plan to do the same thing next time, but probably only on the passenger side of the car.

My first impression, immediately after the application was positive. Of course, going over the whole car twice, with microfiber cloths will do a lot towards making it look nice. The ting that was most noticeable to me though was not the look, but the feel. The finish had (and still does, a few days later) a much different feel to it compared to carnuba wax or Zaino. The finish with CrystalGuard feels very slippery. I noticed the next morning that some water had run down the passenger window, and all the way down the door. The trail wiped off very easily with just a clean microfiber towel. When I got home, I saw some bug guts over the door, and they too came off with the using the towel. We had a light sprinkling of rain also, and though my windshield looked very nasty afterwords, the body of the car still looked great.

I plan to apply another layer or two this weekend (4 days after the initial application). At $15 an application ($20 if you include the wash) this product might be a bit pricy for some.
I will have to wait and see how long the finish lasts though, to consider how much it really costs.

One last thing to note, Zaino sure smells a lot better

 

Actually, that 2.75 oz bottle can do 4 application... I would like to know how you calculated that 15?? thanks.

 

Sorry, I thought the bottle on the website was good for 3-4 applications, not 5-8. I was thinking $49.95+tax and shipping is almost $60, for four applications. I guess I'll have to cut that number down to 7 bucks or so. That would make it only dollar or two more per application than Zaino.
