Default Removing Scratches in Window?

The other day I managed to lock my keys in my car (put them in the hatch and closed it). I called a local locksmith, who was unable to get it unlocked, but did manage to make two inch long scratches in the outside of my passenger window with his metal tool. Is there anything I can do to "fill" the scratches or otherwise make them less visible?

yes, there is a kit that basically uses fine sandpaper, abrasive polish, and a clear wax. ALOT of effort.

I've never tried it personally, but I organised a Meguiar's training night a few months ago for one of my Z clubs and the training manager there suggested using Scratch X to fill in small scratches on side windows. It may or maynot help. If not try something like Prestone or Rainex to remove the Scratch X. Good luck anyway.

Or have up the lock company for damaging your windows.

Very difficult.

You can try glass polish. A little car wax might help. The problem is that glass does not lend itself well to abrasive buffing: the entire area will fog.

That is kind of why the Scratch X works quite well and isn't abrasive. Just slots into the scratch and it appears clear and the scratch is gone on the glass.

I don't think ScracthX would work that well because it does not cantain any fillers. (At least I don't think it does.) The best way to remove a scratch from glass is this kit from the Eastwood company. http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/p...d=glass+polish If you run your nail across the scratch and it catches then this kit will prob not help as the defect is too deep.
