Black magic liquid wax??
That is the a difficulty with Black magic: it takes some elbow grease to buff off. Still it is my number one choice. In about a week and after the next wash the haze will be gone.
when I use Zymol, I usually get a dark haze after the initial buffing...almost a dulling coat. At this point, I take a spray bottle and lightly mist cold water over the haze, and rebuff with a fresh, dry towel. It definitely gets a much deeper gloss to it after the misting.
I'm not sure if what you're encountering is "cakiness" or a haze, but try the water idea...and if you're waxing your car outside, this cold weather could cause the removal difficulty.

being a former detailer..i can tell you that black magic is great stuff but not worth the work...i hated it when my customers asked me to use "their stuff" on their cars because if was always off the shelf crap or stuff that wasn't worth the work...in these days of polymer sealants like megs nxt...just go with the ease of wipe on wipe off...the results are often better for inexperienced users...zaino is definitley a great high end product that is very easy to apply and take off and will give you great long lasting results...if you really want to make you car shine you need to go at it with polishes....glazes...waxes/sealants...etc...and that is a whole other animal...
