Zaino site is confusing!
it's not the "drying" time that the ZFX necessarily improves but it is the CURING time. Without ZFX, Zaino is DRY in an hour or two but you shouldn't take it off at that time because it hasn't CURED yet.
You can remove the excess polish after an hour. If it doesn't streak, or feel a bit gummy, it is dry, and you can wipe off the residue. However, it hasn't cured, so you should not apply a SECOND coat for 24 hours. If you apply a second coat before it cures, the two coats tend to meld together, rather than layering on top of each other, and you are not getting the extra protection that additional coats are meant to provide.
Using ZFX reduces the curing time, so once you have removed the excess polish, you can put another coat on. I recommend misting with Z-6 between coats of polish.
Why multiple coats? I used one of my cars at a P.R. function. I put the mascot of a local hockey team in my car, and as I drove around the ice, he shot t-shirts into the crowd from an air cannon. I was doing donuts on the ice between each period. After the game, I noticed that the hose from the air cannon was hanging out the passenger window, and the air hose had been sliding around and banging into the passenger door all night. There were scratches all over it. When I got home, I removed the 10 coats of Z-5 that I had put on the car over the past year (I used 3-M Perfectit to remove the polish - Isopropyl alcohol also works). The paint underneath was still perfect, and it just took me a while to re-apply all those coats of polish.
It may not stop a speeding bullet, but Zaino is more powerful than a 250 lbs. air hose!
