Default Can the stock muffler be cleaned up?

I'm gonna detail the car tomorrow and will be polishing the tips, but wanted to know if the muffler can be polished.

I know someone that polished his aluminum off road wheels to a chrome shine with this technique and mothers aluminum polish

Yes, but use a polish meant for metals. Following a thorough shampooing and drying job with a few rigorous applications of EO's Wadding Polish (available everywhere) ought to do the trick.

The OEM muffler is protected with rust inhibitor. Leave it alone.

+1.. Use soap and water to clean. If you want it shiny, go with a stainless or titanium aftermarket exhaust.

I Thought about doing this. Shine it up and use a high temp clear.

Yeah....I'm gonna put the car up on stands this weekend and get my big butt under the car and clean it as best I can.
