I wash my car at least once a week. I don't really have a choice, since dust shows up very easily on black cars.

I voted 2-3 /week but it really is "as needed". That is - if it gets rained on it will be cleaned, if it gets bugs on it - it'll get cleaned, if it get at all dirty in any way - it'll get cleaned before it goes out in public again. If it's the weekend - it gets cleaned whether it needs it or not. My wife also thinks I'm out of my mind but I that's the way it is. I am an obsessive compulsive. She did a great job of detailing and waxing my wheels for me last weekend though when I had them off to fit grille and clears - she loved that little job - he, he, he.

I wash it as soon as it gets the slightest bit dirty. My baby deserves to look her very best. But it rained yesterday and today, and I'm under a thunderstorm and tornado watch tonight. This is by far the longest my car's been dirty! Going on three days! AHHH! I don't know if I can make it! My poor car's only been exposed to rain 3 times--she's much too sensitive for such harsh weather.

Start by visiting www.zainobros.com. You'll be able to read about the product, and you can print an order form (you can order by mail, but they only take checks). You can call and see if there's a dealer in your area.

If you WAX your car, then washing it will remove the shine (the shine doesn't come from the wax, it comes from the oils they add to the wax). Zaino isn't wax, and washing your car won't remove it. You'll find that it's easier to wash your car once you have Zaino on it, and you might not need to wash as often (okay, you do it for the fun, not because you need to, right?). Using the Zaino Z-7 carwash will even add to the shine when you wash.

If you get confused with all of the numbers of the Zaino products, shoot me an email and I'll help you figure out exactly what to order.

It's ZAINO and it works very well! Not only does it give a great, liquid-looking finish, but it goes on & off easier than wax, it's dust-free, and it doesn't leave crappy-looking white marks on rubber like waxes do.

Check here for more info & ordering:

http://www.zainobros.com

I have had really good luck with the mail-order, but there are local distributors all over if you prefer.

You should also check out some of the other threads in the detailing section, especially:

Default Thanks Im ready to order

Ok, So Thanks for the timley feedback. Im ready to order here with my order form Here are the specs on my 350 in case you need to know. Color is Silverstone and I dont have a garage so she sleeps outside in the elements.
I live in florida so sun and rain are what we deal with everyday. What should I order based on that. I will most likely try the show wash as you suggested.

Thanks Again

I'd suggest that you start by ordering Claybar, ZFX, Z2, Z7 & Z6. If you have a little more room available in your budget you might want to add Z5 for a first coat and to occasionally get out any possible swirls. I have also found that I like the Zaino rubber treatment; it makes it look better without being too oily.

If you want to cut back on expense (and probably have a not-quite-so-nice-looking car), order AT LEAST the ZFX & Z2. You can (so I've heard) buy claybar in any auto parts store cheaper, though I don't know about quality. You can do without the Z6 although it really does help. And you could use any mild car wash, I guess, although I'm pretty sure the Z7 enhances the Zaino look.

Hope that helps!

Default a clean car is a happy car

it also attracts more ladies!

I wash my silver 350, nicknamed the grey ghost, about once every two weeks. If it rains, she stays in the garage. I have a jeep for the muddy stuff. When i wash, its usually due to pollen or dust, i.e. brake dust....When those evil birds aim at my car, their "shock and awe" is quickly removed as soon as its noticed.
So, in a sense, its possible to say i spot wash my car almost daily.

Default Working At The Car Wash - Yeah

Don't look at washing DA Z as work but as therapy. Mental therapy cuz it make me feel good having a clean ride and Physical therapy from the workout I get doing the detailing. The neighbors in the condo complex always say "You are going to make it rain" "You washing your car AGAIN?" I reply "I don't care if it rains tomorrow - today I am going to have a clean car" or "No I am doing my therapy session" My next door neighbor has a Saleen S281 and he turned me on to KLASSE. Put on a coat a month and love the ease of application and the shine. Sorry Bonz no Zaino for me. Now brake dust is another story. Takes too much time cleaning the rims when I wash DA Z. Have waxed them - but it still is a chore keeping them clean. Got to get some of those green stuff brake pads from Courtesy Nissan and give them a try.

Super Black... 2 times..... in 8 months?

Is it still BLACK....

If I washed my SB that often it would be yellow with a 1/2 inch of pollen on it. (And I keep it garaged too)

Yes, It's still black and is in my garage, only drive on weekends and never in rain. Since it never gets dirty only have to mist with detail spray and wipe off a couple times a week. I have only put 2800 miles on in 8 months so it is not driven that often.

2800mi in 8 months? Why exactly did you buy a Z again??

I don't get it, I buy my cars to drive them. It's not like it's a $100,00 Ferrari or something, it's a friggen Nissan for christ's sake!

I've put 8500mi since January on mine and enjoyed every one of them.

To Jeffery

I mostly drive my other car a 1993 Mazda RX-7. It's just as much fun to drive as my Z car and I save wear and tear on my Z.
