I don't drive the Z that often (2300 miles since December 4) and it is garaged, so I probably wash it once every 2 or 3 weeks.

I've only washed it 6 times - 4 of those I zaino'd as well.

Default what about detailing?

I garage mine and use my "beater" to commute to work so I only wash it ever couple of weeks. Washing it is pretty quick and takes less than 45 minutes for me. And I'm sure it's pretty quick for most guys too.

What I'd be interested in knowing is how often do guys here on this forum detail thier cars? A wash, clay, polish and wax can take all day and even part of the next. I can't image doing that more than once a month.

Claying is a ***** IMO. I've only done it once (2nd wash, about 2 or 3 months ago). Maybe in another couple of months I'll feel like doing it again.

The reason I made this pole is because my wife told me I'm a freak for washing my car 2-3 times a week.
I know there are a lot of people that live in Miami, San Diego, etc. that never have bad weather. What about you guys in the midwest? Saturday the 5th we got 5 inches of snow but 8 days later it was 88.
Do you think I wash too much considering where I live?

Considering the weather last week I think 2-3 times per week seems pretty reasonable. I washed my car twice over the weekend because of bugs and will probably do it again soon. But then again my wife thinks I'm a freak too...

4 times in 2 weeks. It's funny because I've only been home to drive the coupe for 9 days. So it's really 4 times in 9 days, and it's garaged. When I see any dirt or pollen on my G, I just have to start washing. Neighbors think I'm a bit crazy in the head

LOL - me too! My neighbors told me I was going to wash the paint right off of it!

I don't go by time, I wash it whenever it looks dirty and weather & time allow. I want it to always look well-cared-for because I have found that people treat a car the way they see that the owner treats it. If it's clean & shiny they give it a little extra leeway and are careful not to scratch it. If it's dirty they figure you don't care so why should they? It's odd, but in my experience this even extends to how you're treated in traffic!

Damn, G-nite. Are you sure you didn't chrome plate you whole car? If not, that's one heck of a Zaino job. Congrats. I'm turning green.

I'm torn...don't like to drive a dirty car, but I only wash it once a weekend. Maybe now the time change is in effect, I can wash it after work now.

3 coats of Zaino on my Chrome Silver have done me well.

Maybe I'll put coast #4 on this weekend...

Am I a loser for caring so much?

Richard

I drive it.. a lot. I've only had it since February and it's already got 6000 miles on it.

I wash it when it's dirty, which is probably 2-3 times a week. It's garaged also (when I'm not driving it!).

Once a week, normally. Unless it rains in between, it's usually once a week.
