Default Spring cleaning - first time claybar

Well it's that time of year. Decided to try a clay bar on my Z for the first time in 3 years. Safe to say it was long overdue! It took at least an hour just to claybar because the entire car needed multiple passes, the rear of the car being the worst of course. I ALMOST dropped the claybar in the dirt... dropped it and swiped it with my other hand just a few inches above the ground. Nice save! I was pretty amazed at the amount of crap it removed, and how silky smooth the paint felt afterwards. I used all meguiars products. NXT car wash. Then the "smooth surface clay kit". Then used "gold class" liquid wax. I really liked all 3 of these products. The carwash foams like crazy. The claybar kit worked great(used it on the windshield too). And the wax was pretty easy to remove and even smelled good.

Went to 7-11 afterwards and got a nice compliment. Made all the work seem even more worthwhile.

Sorry for the blurry/crappy cellphone picture, but you get the idea.

Looks good. How long did it take you to do the whole car?

somewhere between 2-3 hours altogether.... my arms were feeling it after I was done... im detailing the inside now... it always gets neglected over the winter.

The claybar was pretty impressive though.. I regret not having tried it sooner.

Looks good. I'm another who hasn't done the clay bar thing yet. The weather is finally changing so I guess this week will be the one. I love a clean Z.
