Default Wheels

Hey guys, I've had my 350 now for about a week and I'm loving it. I do have one question for you though -- It seems like these wheels (the 18's) attract everything, dust, pebbles ect. I already have a slight chip (very slight, but I still notice it) in one of the wheels after just a week. Have any of you experienced the same problem? And if so, what do you reccommend to protect the wheels? Thanks for any help

They don't chip or attract crap more so than other wheels on cars I've had. Maybe you just drive in a pebble-rich environment.

If you want ease of cleaning (wiping of brake dust, etc.), you can always wheel-wax your wheels first.

Dust: there are better choices than the OEM pads.
Damage: Wheels endure a lot of abuse.
Proper care of wheels? See the detailing forum.

Since the wheels are painted, you can wax them with the same product that you use on your car.

Nothing is going to protect them from dings, scratches, etc.

I got some "Wheel Wax" from Advanced Auto (same thing tire rack sells) and put it on like it says--2 coats on fronts and on on rears every 4-6-wks and it repels most dust and it washes away with no effort. The factory Brembos dust like crazy.

I use it on my C5 that is weekend driven and the wheels rarely even have dust on them after driving!!!
