Question Zaino dots?

Yes, I've searched AND found some threads that are somewhat similar, but haven't found any answers yet. Gonna call Zaino on Monday (unless you guys know what it is).

While buffing off my Z2 I noticed hundreds of tiny, clear dots all over the car. The only way to get them off was to use my fingernail. They wouldn't just buff out. Running my hand over what looked like a smooth surface it felt like tiny grains of sand. I didn't notice it yesterday after my first coat?!

Yesterday my process was:
- wash
- claybar
- wash with Z7
- Z2
- Z6

Today was:
- Z2
- Z6

Yesterday I used 8 drops of ZFX with 2oz. of Z2, today I used 10 drops. Could it have been caused by the ZFX? They say not to use more than 10 drops. I DEFINITELY don't want to do this again!

Where did you do this, under a tree?

"Dots" would come from some type of spray. The Z-6 would be sprayed on then immediately wiped off so it shouldn't be from that.

No, ZFX wouldn't cause dots.

Yes, I WAS under a tree, but I really don't think it came from the tree (but I'm not ruling it out). The dots were all over, not just on the horizontal surfaces. They looked like little dots of clear silica. I guess I could claybar it again?

Did you try to spray Z6 on a microfiber towel and wipe them off, then buff out with a dry microfiber? If it was from any zaino product the Z6 should take care of it.

I did notice that after washing with Z7 I would get small white dots on the car on the side I dried last. I have a spray bottle with only distilled water that I spray on those areas and wipe down before continuing with the polish.

I got tired of trying to fingernail them off and finished up buffing off the Z2, then sprayed the Z6 on the car and buffed off with a microfiber. The Z6 didn't seem to get rid of them. I did small sections at a time.

I get dots from the z2 drying too fast. I use Z8, it disolves the dots and it redries clear.

Hmmmmm? Interesting. The Z2 took a while to dry yesterday, so that's why I used more ZFX today (to speed it up). Maybe that's why I didn't notice it yesterday? I'll have to get some Z8.

Thanks plumpzz!

Even if the Z8 doesnt cure the dots, its far superior to Z6. I just dont buy Z6 anymore. Z8 is much better and you have to use less of it.

The Z6 came with my "beginners kit". It came with claybar, Z2, ZFX, Z6, Z7 and Z5. I'll order some Z8 and check it out. In the meantime, I'm thinking of doing another claybar with Z7 tomorrow to try and get rid of them. That shouldn't hurt anything, right?

I hate to break it to you but it's the tree pissing on you. Sweating actually. Lot's of trees "drip". It's not sap like a pine tree drops but a water-like liquid that leave clear spots. It should wash off, or the claybar should take them off.

I got pissed on by a tree? Hey, I'm just looking for answers here, so you can break it to me any which way. Actually, I was hoping that it wasn't the Zaino. I've got some experimenting to do. Thanks guys!

Ok.... Try spraying the Z6 ON the microfiber towel instead of the car... One spray, then wipe it on with the damp towel... Then use a totally different MF towel to buff with...

go to your garage and try it NOW

Default Good news, bad news

Well, using Z6 again got rid of the dots, but by the time I finished the car, they were back on the roof and hood. My house is surrounded by trees and I don't have a garage. Must be tree pee.

zaino dots mean 2 things..a) it hasnt dried completely yet (sometimes it takes way longer then the instructions say) b) your using to much Zaino, less is better with this stuff, you'll be surprised how little you really have to use

Just wait till I get the new exaust for it installed!

Clipdin,
Not sure but would you be able to maybe do one of these on your land?

Not sure on price or if it's too radical for you. But I know how obsessive I am and I'd consider it, in your situation.

Probably on the money here. Also it's possible that maybe some dried globs off the lid ended up on the paint too. Smooth, even application is the way to go.

Yeah, those are pretty pricey, but I AM considering SOMETHING in place of not having a garage at all.

And I am pretty sure that it IS the trees doing this to me. I went out the other day and did another round of just Z6, and my baby was as smooth as could be. I let it just sit there for no more than a half hour and those little specks were there again. I took a MF towel and just wiped them off of the roof and it was smooth again. I waited another half hour and voila', they were back again!! It's those trees! Until I get some sort of garage I'm gonna have to live with it.
