Default Removing overspray?

anyone know how to remove overspray from the paint? it's black spray and the car is black, so there is no contrast, but you can still see it. i have paint thinner and Goo Gone, but i wanted to know if clay bar or perhaps a cleaner wax would be able to take this stuff off.

Don't use paint thinner and Goo Gone won't work on it. Claybar is the generally accepted method of removing overspray.

is there a "best" clay bar? i bought the Merguires clay bar kit and it doesn't seem to be taking the stuff off. i am going to try some cleaner wax and an electric buffer this weekend.

Meguiars is a good brand although I haven't tried their claybar. They should all be comparable. I'm surprised it did not remove the overspray though.

Well, when one thing doesn't work, you go on to the next step which would be the polisher.

I have overspray on glass. Would claybar work on that?

judging by some of the comments in this post, I would not recommend any of you do these things yourself. use a razor blade for over spray on glass, use paint thinner and wipe if off quickly for over spray on rubber. and use a clay bar or use meguiars cutter on the paint, and build up a shine with wax. or you could even use 1200 grit sand paper and build it up. None of this recommended for the above users.

Compound is too abrasive for what you need to do. Something mild like a swirl mark remover or fine polishing compound should take the overspray off.
