Even my "seasoned" duster will leave streaks if the surface is too hot or it's been inside the car on a warm day. Not trying to nit-pick, but it's paraffin wax.
When I had a SB Z I had one and I didn't like it. I would wash my car on a thursday evening, park it in a garage, then use the duster the following morning and I swear it would leave small hairline scratches in the clear coat...you could only see them in direct sunlight....

I wash mine occasionally with a very dilute woolite cold water solution. Because the parafin wax is hydrophobic, it won't be removed easily by the water, and the surfactants in the woolite will safely remove some of the dirt. Not sure if its 100% effective, but there is settling at the bottom of my bucket with a grit guard insert so of it has to be removed. Then a quick rinse with some more cold water and an air dry and it should be good to go. If you are worried, just buy a new one occasionally, they are relatively cheap anyways
I am going to get one of these; I always thought that it scratched the clear coat, but if you wash and wax regularly and only use the duster for light debris, you should be ok. Pair this up with the Ultimate Quick Detailer, and you have a winning combination.
Raising this thread from the dead...
Just picked up a few of these. Do you guys recommend storing it in the plastic bag it comes wrapped in or did you ditch that and just keep it in the faux leather case?
Also, got a second one for the wheels/brake dust...anyone have any experience using it for that?

If you do ever drop yours or are replacing an older one for a new one, keep that old one to wipe the dust off of your engine bay parts and motor. Works great and keeps the inside and outside nice and clean.
