California Duster - Do you use it ?

Also, do you use detailing spray (afterwards) ? What do you use to wipe it off ?

I would skip that california duster and get the Meg's versa Angle body duster as it leaves no streaks. If you use the CA duster let it sit on newspaper for a night so the paper absorbs it a bit.

Great product, use it every morning when the car is warming up for a minute. It will take 3-4 uses for the wax in the material to absorb - so you get a little streak here and there if it's too hot out, or the car is too hot. It's OK though - it's just carnuba-based wax.

It's probably one of the single most popular detailing products out there. Do a search of this (Cleaning and Detailing) forum on the term "duster" and you'll see what I mean.

Then you didn't read the instructions.

Sit the duster on some newspaper for a day or two. Shake it around occasionally so all the threads have a chance to touch the paper eventually. That will absorb the excess parafin that the new dusters usually come with.

Did you let it sit for couple of days on a news paper? I don't get any scratches or wax mark on my SB.

sounds like your using it when the car is too dirty. It's only for small dusting - not a replacement for washing. I have a midnight blue car as well - NEVER a streak or hairline scratch or anything.

Keep in mind too - if you get the duster dirty, and don't clean it off, you will do nothing but rub the dirt all over your paint - and likely get scratches.

The worst thing I ever did once was drop the damn thing on the floor!!! The choice was - buy a new one, shake it out and hope for the best, or again..use it and pray. I bought a new one and sold that one at a garage sale

Then you're not using it properly. Or.... I'd place my money on improper washing and drying techniques.
