Recent Experience : Stoners/Bugs/Big Blue
Ok, so I've just placed a restocking order with properautocare.. so I figured it might be a good time to dump of my recent experiences.
I've been hunting for a better glass cleaner, and many people here ranted about Stoners: Invisible Glass.
We I found some at Walmart and gave it a shot. Well..... it definatly has more cleaning power then my current EF Clean Vision, but it definatly streaks MUCH worse, and still doesn't have really dirt cutting power. I've tried with both MF towels, and pure cotton.. I found the cotton to work a bit better to getting the tough dirt (more coarse). But the Stoners definatly was streaky.. Often I would go back again and clean up after it.
My Clear Vision from EF tho is PERFECT when it comes to streaks.. there simply ISN'T any.. but it doesn't have rough dirt cleaning power.
I'm still looking for something that has enough juice to cut through the water marks and tiny spec nicks you get on the windshield (and cutting through like the wiper marks). Neither of these products have that kind of power.. and I don't want to polish my glass.
I also had a Pinnacle Bug Sponge I hadn't tried yet (mainly cuz it looked TOO rough).. OMG.. this thing was perfect! I had just come back from a long road trip.. and the sponge made the front facia clean up a snap! Definatly a keeper!
And lastly.. from time to time I see posts from people not believing in MF or the Big Blue. Over the winter, I had a hard time waxing the car.. and I think I've found the two reasons MF or big blue aren't working for people... both are the same issue.. TOO MUCH WATER!
If you car isn't waxed well.. its going to hold alot more water on its surface. Even after sheeting the water off the car.. a big blue can be soaked.. and when its soaked.. it doesn't get perfect with 1 wipe like it normally does.. it streaks and you have to dry behind it again.
The second issue is people not sheeting the water off their car with the hose prior to drying. This is NIGHT AND DAY when it comes to drying. Put your hose on soaker (if it doesn't have soaker.. take the nozzle off.. but watch it near the car!!!).. and top down run across the panels and let the water push the majority of the water off the car. Trust me.. using a spray and just trying to use the edge of it just isn't the same. Get a hose with a soaker setting, so you can keep the nozzle on, and not worry about scratching the car when you screw up and drop the hose
If your car is half way waxed, and you sheet, the car will dry perfectly with a big blue barely getting wet. Fail to do those steps.. and you are ringing it out it can get so wet.. and while it still works (much more like a traditional chamois in terms of results) its NOTHING like the results you get when doing the above steps.
Hope these tips help some people.. I know some people have not been impressed with big blue.. but I'm telling you.. when used right.. its incredible.
Next on the list to try.. Blackfire! Its in this coming order

If you're looking for a DEEP CLEANING product for your windshield, try a bottle of Zaino Z-12. This is an abrasive paste that you can use by hand (lots of elbow grease) or with an orbital buffer. It takes off bug guts, water spots, wax (you know, for when the wife/girlfriend goes through the car wash and decides to get the spray-on wax!). I've used it on some seriously-abused windshields, and the results are amazing.
Here's a hint - when using Z-12, keep a spray-bottle of water handy. If you keep moistening the windshield as you buff, you'll be able to work it longer, but use less Z-12. After you've buffed for a while, let it dry to a haze, then buff with a soft cloth.
NOTE: since Z-12 is an abrasive, do NOT mix up the cloths you use for Z-12 with your other polishing/drying towels. If you wash them together, the abrasive from Z-12 could get on your car towels, which would be bad! Quarantine your Z-12 cloths!

I resisted the urge to get zaino this time around... tho the addition of the webstore almost changed that. I hope that does well for Zaino, because that alone makes the buying process 10x easier.. tho I'm sure its not all that great for the distributors
Unless he lets you start selling online now as well....
I chose blackfire this time purely based on people's comments of it on dark colors vs zaino. I'm a wax fan myself, but the application process should be alot easier with these polymars, so I'm willing to give it a shot
Depending on how blackfire goes.. Zaino will be my next attempt.
