I got a black Z and I am so **** about dust. What's a good method to get rid of the dust? Everytime I detail the damn car, the next day I find a layer of dust on my black Z that looked oh so gorgeous the night before...!
Since you're parking outside, I would buy a car cover and use it over nights and other extended periods.
Then use a QD and a soft/plush microfiber towel to wipe off any lint and possible dust.
Check out Detailed Image's website. They have an excellent 2-sided mf towel.

I got my Super Black Z a week & a half ago, had it detailed last weekend, & have already given up on keeping the dust off.
I hit it with a California Duster before I leave for work-- it works & removes the dust, but it's a do/ done/ repeat process.

Hey man, I feel your pain. I have a Carbon Silver Z now, but before this car I had a:
05 Black C6 Corvette
01 Black C5 Corvette
00 Navy Blue Camaro SS
96 Black Camaro Z-28/SS
93 Black RX-7/R1
Everytime I bought another Black (dark) car, I'd SWEAR that was the LAST freakin' one! But, I'd go back and do it again. I washed, waxed, detailed, parked in a garage, I'd even cover my freshly detailed car... IN my garage... with a car cover to combat dust. Oh, and a bottle of quick detailer and a car duster was never more than two steps away. After 14 years, from 1993 to 2007 I finally admitted the inevitable...
It was a battle you cannot win. And, unfortunately, a battle I'm too old to fight anymore. I bought me a gorgeous 07 Carbon Silver Z and I can detail it, drive it, even park it outside. It gets a fine layer of dust on it and guess what? You can't tell. Hehehe.
14 year to figure out the answer to keeping a black car dust free! Buy a silver car.
Good luck, fight the good fight in the battle vs. Dust. I'll be the first to admit, a freshly detailed black car is beautiful.
Regards,
Clark
i use my electric craftsman air blower. it takes care of the dust perfectly since dust just lays on top of the paint. It's easily taken care of. I would never tell a person to use a california duster on black paint..for any paint. Also, when using quick detailer, you will get some slight swirls and marring. Either try to use a blower or just learn to live with it until the next wash.
