Default Side-view Mirror Trim

Hey guys on the black trim attached to the sideview mirrors, there are several white spots. I tried applying some Mothers back to black, but it didn't help much. My car is an 08, so I doubt they have faded already -- does anyone have suggestions on what I can do to remove these?

Quit fapping on your Z. I mean, I know it's a nice car but your hand has got to get soar. On top of that you get the white spots.

Haha, trust me that's not the problem. I literally just picked my car up this past Sat -- so it can't be sun damage or wear, I'm kind of at a loss right now.

Maybe try Black WOW. I've been pleased with it on plastics.

The white spots may be dried wax that was applied to the car. Shouldn't have been put on the plastic trim, but who knows.

I'll have to try it. I thought it was wax at first too, but it kind of does look like it's faded. I just find it hard to believe that they could be faded already on an 08. If it is in fact faded, could that be covered under warranty?

Well, I've pretty much tried every trim product known to man now and still no results. Should I just bring the car back to the dealership and see if they'll replace the mirrors? I mean, I did just buy the car a week ago. My only worry is that they would screw up something else when replacing the mirrors.

I had my last Z for over a year and this never happened to any of the trim...

You tried BlackWOW and it didn't work? That's surprising. I've been very pleased with the results from it.

Have any photos of the afflicted trim? Maybe it can give us a better idea of the problem.

The BlackWow, gave it a nice black sheen, but you could still see the affected area underneath. I'll try and get some pics after work, but they pretty much look like white dots / blotches all around the trim.

I'm starting to think that the dealership sprayed something abrasive on there when they wre prepping the car.

Looks like wax residue to me:

a. Soft cloth with a little mineral spirits
b. Wash with soap and water
c. Dry
d. Mother’s Back-to-Black

I wish it was just wax -- I think it's actually ingrained in the the plastic.
