Sheeting or Beading ??????
Ok, back in the day I always heard that "sheeting" was the the best sign of a great wax. Has this changed because I see everyone talking about water beading NOT sheeting?? I had always heard that water "sheeting" is best because there is no residue left behind when the water is dries. When water beads - then dries - it leaves behind "all the junk" that doesn't evaporate with the water. Can someone please claify what is best. Thanks.
I'm not an expert, however I have always heard and understood that beading means that the surface is being protected. The bead means that the water is being repelled and kept from the surface. When it stops beading and the water just runs off or spreads out into a thin sheet on the suface, then you need to apply more wax; your protection is gone.

I think there is sheeting, and then there is what an unprotected car does... not sure tho.
in theory beads are just very small sheets. in no world will the car every completely dry itself. but beads roll of the car pretty easy, just as sheeting would. on flat surfaces it has trouble tho.
Im sure some zaino guys can shed more light on the situation tho.

From what Sal said a while back..... when developing Zaino he had the choice of going for a beading action or a sheeting action but chose beading b/c it was much easier to tell when another coat was needed. With a sheeting action it is near impossible to tell if the car is being protected.
Plus just get a blower out on the beads and they fly right off.
