Default How is Blackfire on protection/durabilty?

just bought my new car kit. For those with experience with BF for a while... how long does the shine last?? Is the protection pretty good?? Does BF sheet or bead water??

I've been very pleased with BF products--I used the new car kit in November and haven't re-applied since. I wash the car about every other week and use the quick detailer spray--finish is just as shiny and slick as the first application. So to answer your question, it's held up well for 3 months now, and so far no swirl marks or scratches.

I'll let you know as soon as it gets in the 50s here in Chicago. I'm dying to apply it, since I have very little protection on the car now and I'm managing to pick up dust and some road salt. I'll probably clay the car, even though I hadn't intended to initially. I got the new car kit and the quick detail spray, too. I can't wait to put it on and see how it works. I'll keep you posted.

I had bad luck with the older formulation's duability...it lasted pretty short (for a polymer). But what you guys have (and what I have yet to try) is the new formulation, which is from what I hear, much better in that regard.

BF2 in one world is: "WOW****INGUNBELIEVEABLETREMENDOUSOUTOFTHISWORLDPREFECT! " Ok, so it could be more than one word, But theres nothing else like it! Going on 5 months on first application. Of course my Z is inside right now out of the that white stuff called snow. But the slickness and protection is unbelieveable. Even on my Jeep which is what I've been driving in the snow is holding up beautifully. Still slick as ever which makes it nice when removing snow!

Default Agreed!

As a Blackfire user with three coats of sealant on my Redline 350Z, I have to say that I'm totally satisfied. Going on four months and the depth of shine has not wavered, nor does the durability appear to be waning. I do keep my car garaged at night, but it's a daily driver in Colorado and it continues to look great!

BF is a fantastic product. I've had 3 coats for 4 months and it still looks great! I just applied another one last week, and it just rejuvinates the deep texture of the paint. Very pleased with this product thus far!

Default just got my bf kit,,dealer did some swirls

I've had my z x2weeks and decided to purchase the bf, thanks to all the info on the forums. I have some minor swirls due to the dealer 'detailing the car' for me on the pickup day. BIG mistake on my part, althought I asssssumed that they knew what they were doing.

Anyway should I do the 3m first, which i also purchase or do you think the bf kit will do without the 3m application?

350zvin, i would not do 3M on your new car, just use the polish and sealer by BF.
go to properautocare.com, the company name is Classic Motoring Acc. call them and ask them yourself, they seem to be very knowledgeable. i have bought a lot of stuff from them (about $650 worth), from Blackfire to Pinnacle. from what i know talking with them is, there's some products you would only use on older cars and not on new cars..they would tell you.

i hope this helps,

Gerardo

The 3M SMR for dark cars, or possibly the new Menzerna fine polish (nt the harsher one...youd need a machine for that) before hand to help with the swirls....BF polish is simply a glaze that will temporarily fill in the swirls. Remember if ou go this route, TAKE YOUR TIME, and really work in the polish to the paint unil its begining to hazy/dry up. Then buff it clean. Think of the polish as some sort of skin cream that you have to rub into the skin...if you simply wipe on, wipe up, none of it will get into your skin...if you dont work the polish into the paint, the abrasives wont get the friction required to work their stuff. And remember, some areas may require another aplication or two. It takes time but its worth it...if you dont it will be a waste.

After the abrasive polish use the BF "polish" to clean up any mess left by the former...to prep it nicely for the sealant. These three steps should really help towards making a great finish, and if you find that you removed alot of the swirls, just use the 2 BF products by themselves.
