Car Wash Soap?
Hey I have been through most of the detailing threads, but I haven't come across possibly one of the most basic questions.
What kind of Car Washing Soap/Shampoo do you use when initially washing your car with the 2 bucket method?
Thanks

I try to use an auto shampoo with conditioners that won't strip protection from the paint. I don't think there are any best shampoos, they are somewhat generic. I like shampoos that have good lubricity and leave no residue behind. I really like the Poorboy's World Super Slick and Suds. This is a traditional shampoo that has lots of suds and works great. I'm also really liking the Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss. This is a concentrated citrus based shampoo that won't strip the protection if you use about .5 ounces or less per gallon of water. I really like it's versatility too though because if you pour in about 2 ounces per gallon you can strip off the wax or sealant for a fresh surface. All of the shampoos we carry are really outstanding, I like each one. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

You can get the Sheepskin Mitt @ Target/Wal-Mart for like 7-8$ max. 17$ seems steep. I've always used Meguiars Gold Class Shampoo, you can also get a really big tube of this at Target for really cheap. It cost the same price as the small bottle at autozone, yet you get a 1gallon tube at Target. I use the sheepskin mitt and I like it. I want to try something else though, my brother ruined mines and bought a crappy microfiber mitt one that I do not like.

I use CG citrus car wash or duragloss. I stay away from all of that megs shampoo.
I just tried Duragloss 901 last weekend and thought it was really good – especially for being low cost.
Seems to cut through dirt and bug splatters with no problems or hard rubbing, too.
Only issue I had with it was that I noticed that I would get water spots if I didn’t dry fast enough.
Otherwise, I still like Meg’s Gold Class.
The Meg’s NXT shampoo claims to be PH balanced. I haven’t done a litmus test on it but it does smell good!

After reading the description for the sheepskin mit on auto geek for $17 compared to a $7 one at wall-mart; I beleive the difference is that the one from autogeek is lined inside with some sort of leather.
But I think the Ulti Mit looks like a good buy as well

The Sheepskin Wash Mitt and Lake Country Ulti-Mit are both good options for safe washing in my experiences. The Sheepskin Wash Mitt may be just a little bit safer because it's slightly more plush. However the Sheepskin Wash Mitt is made with natural fibers that typically won't last nearly as long as the Ulti-Mit. The Ulti-Mit should last much longer and is definitely a good tool. I use both personally and love them both. You'll be please with either or product. Don't forget you can use your MY350Z 10% discount code (10off350Z) at www.detailedimage.com. Let me know if you have any other questions about these products or anything related to detailing.

I use Turtle Wax's car soap (the regular white bottle). That's what I've been using for years. I can't say how it compares to others because I don't remember using anything else.
Can anybody comment on this product?
