Default WARNING "3M Adhesive & Wax remover" removes paint

I took off my front emblem on the front bumper today. I used 3m adhesive and wax remover for cars to get the rest of the sticky adhesive off. Luckily, I used it were the other emblem will cover because it peeled the paint right off. Either our cars have super crap azz paint or this stuff is way to strong. I think our paint sucks. You cant see the spot were the paint stripped from thank god. Be careful with any product made for car paint as I think our cars were painted with finger paints.

well since it shows a car on the front and says right next to it in bold print "will not harm most cured auotomotive paints"

Hmm

What do you think there?

Directions say will not dissolve or mar automobile paint that has been properly aged...

also suitable for vinyl or glass surfaces. Sound pretty safe. Not for our paint apparently..

I used it a few weeks ago when some punk stole the emblems on my Z, and it was fine. Cleanly removed the adhesive residue and did nothing to the paint.

I've used the stuff too with no problems, just make sure you wipe it off right after you spray it on.

I have used it and no problems.

I used on the rear hatch, and I think the problem is the front bumper and the very thin clearcoat on it. When I first got the car I polished it with Klasse and started to notice the rag started to turn blue so I think I rubbed the clearcoat right off. I have not had any other problems because I installed a clear bra so no more contact with the paint.

It wouldn't be waxed underneath the emblem, and might be more prone to dissolving faster than the waaxed areas. Just a thought. Agreed on the paint tho. It sucks.

make sure you DO NOT use this product if the paint is hot, or in direct sunlight, best to use it on cool paint, in shade. DO NOT leave it on too long.
