No desire to wash my car after keying
Coming up on weekend number two. I won't be able to get the body panel repainted for another three weeks. Everytime I get the urge to wash my filthy car, I think of the scratch and feel like throwing up. Having the car so dirty hides the scratch a lot better. I can't bear the thought of having a bling bling finish all over the car then having that blemish stand out. How have other people coped?
I feel ya man. After I got rear-ended I haven't had the desire to wash my car.. it's like what was once perfect is now flawed. Once its back to a flawless state you'll feel whole again. I need to get it fixed soon.
How bad is it? Mine was keyed pretty badly. I got 95% of it out using a buffer and Meguiar's #9. Zaino swirl remover filled in most of the rest of it. All you can see ony my car are two very small scratches.

check out that link... made my car 100% for Hot Import Nights...too bad I didn't pile on 50 lb of vinyl on my car so I didn't win anything, just wanted to stay clean.

Scratch was down to the metal. Touch up paint would still show no matter how well I tried. The scratch actually started to discolor (rust) which is why I put some touchup paint on it until I get the body shop to repaint it. Good thing I'm on vacation for two weeks soon, so my ugly car won't be seen.
Scratched the living hell on the roof of my car as we speak. Dealership said that they would not be able to re-paint my car for about 5-6 more days and then will receive it back a couple of days after that. A total of about 10 days or so. I just told them to keep it at their lot, rather than me pick it back up for just a couple of days only to have to return it for the paint job. I figure if I can't see the damage at the "casa" then I can cope with it better.
