Default Can't wash Z at my apartment.

Well as the title say's I'm kind of screwed right now. I just moved to Washington State and until I purchase a home I am not permitted to wash vehicles at my current residence and even if I did I would need a long hose to do it. I just drove across country (Georgia) and my Z was on a trailer but got super dirty and has a tar like substance on a few areas. I tried to use the car wash on base (just the water gun not the brush) and let the foam soak but it still didn't work.

Any ideas?

I was REALLY skeptical at first, but it def. works well. I use ONR and the two bucket method.

OP - are you asking how to get the tar off?

they make a bug/tar remover that you can get at an auto parts store like Pep Boys. that should remove the tar you are refering to.

I do not like shortcuts to a proper soap and water car wash. That said, ask in your regional forum for a car wash recommendation or detailer.

There is nothing to be scared about, it's a tried and true product. Many professional detailers use this product daily, it's not a QD if you're thinking that. There are in-depth instructions and reviews on Autopia.org that have shown no marring or swirls over time.

Griot's Garage has a new waterless car wash. You might check it out at www.griotsgarage.com.

I just want to list a few tips for you:

1.) Create a large spray bottle of appropriately rationed ONR. Now, you can pre-soak panels to remove any thick grime and/or dirt. This will limit the potential for marring, which is what proper washing is all about.

2.) Do the wheels/tire/wheel wells separately, I usually do them first. You can use an old terry cloth for these parts, you don't necessary need a bucket. I use two old cloths as well as the spray bottle of ONR. Spray on and agitate with cloth 1, then remove with the second cloth.

Well I ordered the ONR from autogeek and then a DI Package: Porter Cable 7424 Starter Kit, Menzerna: PO106ff Ceramic Clear Coat Polish and a couple Waffle Weave Drying Towels.
