Default Auto Detailers

(I'm pretty sure this will be moved, but...)

So this morning, I went to wash my car and came back home to apply some Zaino. I did that, and then went to the grocery store to pick up some hair care products so I could wash and style my hair while the Zaino sat on the car for a while.

So on my way home from the store, I stopped by this auto detailing shop that doubles as a used car lot to see what they have for me as a second, winter vehicle.

The owner comes out and asks if he could help me and what was I looking for. I told him, and he commented on my car.

"This is a nice car"

"Thank you"

"What is that on it?"

"Wax"

"You can't put regular wax on that car. It will strip the clear cloat"

"Well..it is Zaino. You can't buy it in stores, and they have engineered it so that it will not strip the clear coat."
"That is what you think"

"It is a show car polish...."

"You can't put show car polish on this car." Pointing to the sign, "This is what we do. This is an auto detailing shop"

Duh. "Have you heard of Zaino?"

He slowly nods his head.

Yeah right....anyway. So we got back on the topic of what car I was looking for.

I'm annoyed with him. Cheap way to try to get my business.

Here was your mistake:

You lied to him and sent his sorry salesman a$$ off onto the wrong sales-talk track. If you had properly answered "Zaino" (which, as we know, isn't wax) the conversation would have gone completely different, with you on top and not being condescended to. If he knew what Zaino was, he'd have respected you. If he didn't, it would have put him at a disadvantage.

I'm not trying to crack bad on you, but I see this too often. People who use it and love it call Zaino "wax" when they talk about it to other people. That's insulting Zaino. It's MUCH better than wax.
