Default Latest detailing conquest: 08 997 Carrera S

Just finished my best detailing accomplishment to date. Met a guy at a wedding who needed his 2008 Carrera 997 S detailed.

The paint was in decent shape as it is only a year old. It is garaged kept and only has 16k miles on it. Clay was not needed. Minor swirls. Opted not to go polishing route to begin. I usually try the least aggressive method first.

Washed the car. Taped it off. Went with Z-5 to conceal the swirls and lay down a nice foundation for Mirror Glaze Yellow Carnuba wax.

I was very pleased with how the car turned out. What little swirls were visible to begin with were nearly invisble after the z5. After that it was all down hill with the carnuba.

Gotta love some 19in HRE's.

I didn't take a whole lot of before shots because I had to get to work.
Here is what the hood looked liked...which had the most swirls.

Here is one.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Nice work. What a beautiful car. He needs some lowering springs and a daily driver though...

So you just covered up the scratches with z5? What happens after a couple washes and the swirls come back?

nice work,

it makes me sick to see nice cars with swirls, why don't people take better care of their stuff?

Have you ever used z5? It definately lasts more than a few washes. I really avoid polishing when it is not necessary. Especially on a car like that.

And when they do start to show back up hopefully he'll ask for my business again.

You didn't clay you didn't polish and you hid the swirls? And you got paid for it? Yeah the car looks good, but its because of the lighting put it under halogens and you will really see what it looks like. z-5 fills very minimally.

Ya the car had 16k garage kept miles. Trust me it did not need claying...which has nothing to do with removing swirls.

The only light swirling was on the hood and two coats of z5 filled them nicely.

FYI I have a halogen head lamp that checks all of my work.

Polishing isn't that hard with the proper tools and product. I am learning to do my own cars.

Nope not hard, just a big pain in the a$$. Requires a lot of time and patience.

Basically doubling what I charge for a job.
