I don't know why you would knock people offering help, even tho they may have differing opinions....these are not scientific polls...but people with some anecdotal oberservations trying to help a fellow board member
I agree with helping fellow board members. But at the same time, I got sick of the newspaper argument. The OP was not about cleaning the glass, but rather how to get rid of that thin film. I believe there's a difference, like you pointed out with the outgassing of plastics as opposed to regular dirt. I look for suggestions, not idea bashing and debates. I wanted to get the thread back to being useful and that's why I mentioned people should read these ideas/suggestions and do what they feel is best. Hence, if it works for you...great.

Ok, now I'm done venting -- my windshield is just bugging me and I'm looking for ways to fix it.

New stoner for life-tried IG for the first time and was really impressed by the results. $3.27 at Walmart.
