Default WARNING--Finish Line Detailing East Hanover, NJ

I brought my 2005 IP coupe to Finish Line in East Hanover,NJ for a detailing. The car has Work Varienza T1s rims with black centers and polished, clearcoated lips and rims.

They charged $200 for an in/out detail. Results were so-so but they must have used something on the wheels that damaged the clearcoat on the lips. They were spotted and had huge areas where the solution pooled at the bottom and ate away the clearcoat.

The owner/manager (John) gave me a hard time first saying that they were brought in like that (They weren't) and that they didn't cause the damage. After much arguing, he agreed to split the cost of refinishing the wheels. He said it would be about $150/wheel. I reluctantly agreed figuring I had to come up with another $300 to get them right.

I went to the best place for wheel refinishing by me (USA wheels in Fairfield, NJ) to confirm the price and they agreed with $150/wheel.

When it came time to drop off my car at Finish line, I asked John if I could take it to USA wheel. He became enraged and said that he had a guy that would only charge him $75/wheel. I said so I would only be responsible for $150? He said no, it would be $300. I asked him what happened to him paying half?? He said if I didn’t like it, I could take the wheels and shove them up my f-ing ***.

I'll never go there again and I recommend that no one else does either.

wow, thats bs...split the cost and he f***** em up. Please dont let him ride on this one. I've learned to take pics of my car when i drop it off for work and make sure they see me doing it...I hate leaving my car at shops like having a loved one in the hospital...Serious **** throw a brick through his shop window after hours even up the cost.

Cancel payment for 'services' tendered if you're able to.

Definately dispute your charges if you paid via credit card, completely unsatisfactory work and customer serivce. If it was a drive thru car wash, maybe I can understand the complete disregard for premium wheels and poor service, but for a detail shop to have this mentality is unacceptable, period.

Hahahaha. Tell this guy to go **** himself. If you paid via credit dispute the
charges immediately. File a complaint in the BBB locally and slam him all over
the internet. Post photos of the damage and we will help. A photo of him, his
store, his store phone number would also get this rolling in the right direction.

He will rue the day he gave you a hard time. GET ON IT.

I hope everything works out for you OP. Its sad to hear stories like this. I must admit that you have a lot of patience. "Shove them up your ***" would have been lights out.

Before we start completely bashing a business, could you post some pictures of the work? I would hate for a fire to start blazing across the internet forums without any real proof. Jusy sayin...
