Default Zaino Z6 or other wax spray?

I was wondering if one would get the same results using another type of wax spray instead of the Zaino Z6. I was thinking about using Zymol.....

Z-6 is not really a spray wax, it is a detailer spray. Spray waxes would be like the Turtle Wax Minuite Wax product.

Z-6 is made to work with the Zaino polish and bond to it, other detailers sprays of course would not be, but you can try what you want.

If you do apply another kind of detailer spray or spray wax do not be prepared to apply a Zaino polish coat over that as it will probably not stick without washing the car first.

Kevin Overall,

From what I understand:

-Z6 helps between z2/z5 applications.
-Using another type of spray will not give good results?

Is the z6 a good cleaner/"wax" alternative to using z2/z5. (I don't want use z2/z5 after every wash)

Thanks

Correct. If you have Z2/z3/z5 on your car you must use Z6. Using another product can cause hazing with the existing Zaino. I asked Sal about this a while back and this was also confirmed by someone here who tried a different product. This isn't saying that ALL other detail sprays will cause this, but its not recommended.

No, Z6 is not an alternative to Z2/Z5. However, you don't have to use Z2/Z5 after every wash. Those are the actual wax/polish products. Its sort of like women's makeup. Z2/Z5 would be the foundation and Z6 would be the "touch-up" stuff like blush. In the case of Zaino, the foundation lasts several months, so you don't need to reapply the foundation everytime. You can just go directly to the blush.

That being said, the more coats of foundation used, the better the overall appearance will be in Zaino terms. One coat of Zaino foundation will give you an A+ shine, but each coat after that adds another + to you shine.

Z6 is a gloss enhancer. It adds great shine to a car that already has Zaino polish applied to it. It is great for quick shine ups. I use it as a quick detailer and just love the product.

Stupid ?, but when you put the Z6 on, you wipe it off, correct? Then do the Z2, Z-5.

I have a Meguiars detail mist and its kinda the same thing.

Ordered my kit today, can't wait to try it out. I am still confused on the process of apllying, ect. I think I will use that darn search engine.

Well I do this: wash, dry, apply polish with ZFX, then Z6 at the end or between coats of polish, if doing more then one. I then use the California Duster and Z6 to maintain the shine without washing. Ofcourse, there is alway a point where a car is too dirty to quick detail. Later.

Z6 always goes an AFTER you have applied Z2/Z5, or as a touch up after a drive, if the car has a small amount of dust.
Somewhere somebody is saying you MUST put Z6 on first then Z2/Z5 and that is not correct. Does anyone know where the source is for that information. I would like to get it corrected.

Steve,

I know its not a "must" to put on Z-6 before a coat of Z-2/Z-5, but don't you think it makes the application process easier? I normally apply it after the wash and again after the Z-2/Z-5.

Putting Z6 on after every coat or wash is definitely the right thing to do. However I have not seen it provide any benefit when it is applied prior to a new application of ZFX'd Z2 or Z5.
In another words, you Dawn wash, Clay, apply Z-6, then apply ZFX'd Z-2 or Z-5. You can put Z-6 on first, but it provides no real benefit.
In my travels I found a couple people saying you MUST do a Z-6 right after claying and that is not correct.

You Z-6 the applicator to make it moist, not soaked, but moist, and that will help ease the application of polish, and I am not wondering if that statement was misinterpeted.

Make sense?

Actually i was not referring to the initial application of Z-5/2 but subsequent ones. I did not apply Z-6 prior to my first coat of Z-5.

So basically, If I wash my car and plan on putting on another coat of say Z-2, I should not first apply Z-6?

Sorry, I was bouncing around a couple of forums, and did not read your answer completely.
You are 100% correct a Z-6 prior to another coat is the right thing to do.

Default FINALLY GOT THE ZAINO KIT

I had such a bad day at work and dealing with my damn dealership over my clearbra. Well guess what is laying on my doorstep when I got home.

ZAINO, baby, all $115 worth. I ordered some extra spray and extra polish i believe.

The sad part is, I can't apply it right away, a death in the family. Have to go outta town for a few days.

Guess my poor Z gets to sit in the garage and smell the awesome aroma of my new detail products.

I even washed her up and put the car cover on. She'll def. be ready when I return to put that first magical coat on. I can't wait.

Am I nuts?

Z-6ing "before" applying the polish does make it easier to spread the polish, it also ensures that the surface is as clean as possible when you apply the polish.
