well, I dont' know when or how it happened, just when I got home, I was taking somethings out of the trunk, and I saw this line on my rear bumper, I prayed for it to be just dirt, but nope, it aint'. It was a scratch!! The starting and ending part is not that deep but the middle is deep enought that I need to touch it up. It is very obvious if you look at my car from behind, you'd see a line there.

Now, for you wax or detailing experts, can any of you tell me if I can remove this just by polishing? if so, how would I go about polishing this?? I have the necessary equipments at work, 3M polishing compound, and a automatice polisher with 3M polishing pads. I would like to know, how do I safely polish my car without taking the paint off??

Try the less abrasive first. Maybe some ScratchX by Meguiars. If that doesnt do it, move on to Meguiars Step1. If that doesnt do it, try some rubbing compound on a wet rag. Note: the rubbing compound WILL mark your paint. You need to buff it out with meguiars step 1 afterwards to correct this
