Default Hazy paint? Also, when to wax?

I've had my Z for about 2 months now (it was built in November). I washed it for the first time about 1 week after purchase, and notice that the paint was a little hazy (Maguire's gold class). I switched over to Mother's California gold, and have washed twice since. Still get some haze; only on the hood. Does anyone else have this problem?

Also, the car is still nice and shiny after I wash it, and the water still beads up when it rains. Do I need to rewax it, or is it going to be a waste? I have 4-steps: claybar, swirl remover, meguairs showcar wax, and blackfire. Is it too soon to wax, since my car still seems to have good wax on it? Will a complete rewax get rid of the haze also?

I would want to know if the have you see is attributed to hazy clear coat paint or the effect of the wax or polish you are using. To do this, wash the car hood with Dawn and clay bar it clean and see for your self. I you have hazy clear coat you need to use a mild polishing compound like 3M Swirl mark Remover part number 39009 to clear up this haze and then use what ever wax you want on top of that.

Remember, your car is clear coated, therefore unless this top clear coating is optically clear, then the real color of your car will not show thru. Kind of like, if a glasses wearer looks thru the world with dirty glasses....

Gotcha...so basically I should rewash w/ dawn. If it's still hazy then I should clay bar, and then go on with my 4-step waxing?
