Default chip in front bumper...

I need your adivce on how to get rid of all these chips in my front bumper. I should have gotten a clear bra. Here is a picture after detailing it yesterday

There are some more pictures of the whole car here.

Welcome to the club. Nothing you can do. Crappy paint + sports car low to the ground = chips. All you can do is try to stay far from cars in front of you. Especially trucks!

I couldn't justify $800 for a clear bra when I can get the whole front bumper resprayed for less than that (with better paint than factory mind you).

yeah I feared as much... my front and rear bumpers dont really match the rest of the car as usual so I should get it painted eventually.

Even if you could get your bumper and hood resprayed for less than a clear bra(which are typicaly less than $800) and you dont mind your not having your car for a week, how often do you plan on repainting it? 6 months? A year? Untill you've driven around with a sandblasted bumper for so long you cant stand it anymore? And then what, your just gonna drive out of there and let it start all over again? This could get very expensive
A clear bra goes on once and is a permanent install

Ive said it before, Ill say it again, I saw an S2k with a 3 year old clear bra, and Id be extremely pissed if that thing was on my car, it looked aweful, white marks all over it.

the owner was the 3m distributor of the product as well.

also my moms mercedes makes that bumper look perfect, her hood even rusted under the chip. only car Ive ever had that didnt have chips was my ram, probably because it was a big metal bumper farther off the ground then our hood.

anyway, I use touchup paint on the big stuff, I dont have any "small" chips I dont think, maybe they dont show on black with the black bumper under it.

I have been considering a clear bra since I got my car. it's not cheap and your post answered my concerns on how the bra would hold up over time. Imagine what it will look like in 5 years!
I think I'd rather spend the $ on Mods and any little chips that occur use touch up paint. Thanks
