winterized the Z for good - pics! 56k go away
So I woke up to a gorgeous day and thought it was a great day to detail my Z and get her truly ready for our typical winters. My car was already clean, so it was just a matter of moving her out of the corner of the garage and then spraying her down. I had already prepped the interior, so I wasn't going to worry about that. All I wanted to do was wash and wax the Z.
Sprayed and wet:

A side profile pic just because:
Another frontal:
Now the drying; I like to make sure all the door jambs and hatch and what not are clean. I started by using a leaf blower on emblems, lights, door handles, etc. Places where water collects and is hard to get out.
Yes, even the gas cover is cleaned.

Now she's dry and ready for waxing.... or did I already wax her? Whatever, you get the point.
I also cleaned the wheels and wiped them dry inside and out. Did the rear underbody and cleaned the exhaust as best I could. And that's it. I'm letting her air out for a while before I put the cover back on and tuck her back into the Z spot.

Thanks for the props. It took me over a year of window shopping before I found what I liked.

One tip for ya, get a microfiber cloth to clean the anodized lip. It scratches very easily with regular wash cloths. I had learned the hard way

lol @ David.... that's a good idea.
I wax the car almost regularly, at least 3-4 times a summer. But yeah, I think the car was waxed within the last couple of months and hasn't been driven much. I used Meg's NXT. The car is so smooth after the wax job.
Those wheels are about 3 years old now. It's got little nicks from road rash, but I wash and wax those often. I've been known to take them off and really scrub them down.

Or you build a shelf and have it hang from the ceiling. Many of my friends have done that to their single car garages. Nicely out of the way and they have a circuit breaker to turn it on/off. Also Dave I'm clay barring my car next summer you in??

LOL. I clean all of those areas every time I clean my car...weekly.
Glad I don't have to put my baby away for winter.
She looks great!

Awesome car and thanks for sharing those photos! Glad you took some time out to clean and protect it. If you ever need any recommendation or advice on maximizing the white or any part of the detailing process let me know I'd be happy to help.
