Default Zaino and dust

Is Zaino a magnet for dust? My SB '04 looks fabulous, but at the end of each day it is covered in dust like no car I have ever had. I have layers in the double digits of Z2 & Z5, but the dust is frustrating. I have been wondering for sometime if it was the Zaino attracting the dust or just the joy of owning a black vehicle. What do you think, I am espically interested in other SB & darker color owners.

You'd probably get it no matter what you use with the black car but I find the same thing with my Brick. I don't know if Zaino attracts it any more than anything else, but it does attract it.

I keep my California Car Duster in the back of my car at all times and it works wonders in between washings if there is only dust on the car.

Default Dus t Z

I have considered to change the plate on my car to Dus t Z....
Yep Zaino is a dust magnet and it is ist 2nd downside... You will note however that from 3' away from the car and with Zaino, you see no dust but rather SB shine...

The fun of owning a black car... I still think it is the best color for that one.

Not only it is a dust magnet, it attracts bugs too. May be it's the smell...I find more bugs resting on my car than anyone else's.

I have to agree. They state in their brochure that it deters up to 60% of dust but I'm not a believer.

Dust will settle anywhere it doesn't matter what polish, wax or whatever, it could be wood. When it comes to dust it is a matter of how badly the dust sticks to the surface, with Zaino it mostly all blows off driving down the street, at least on my car it does.

I have 2 coats of Zaino and the dust still sticks to the car like glue....doesn't matter how fast you drive the car. It's time to get a nice duster.....any recommendations? I want something that's not too bulky.

After washing my car and hitting it up with Z-6, I can go 2-3 weeks without washing the car by just using the CA duster. I use it daily. It takes one minute after I come home from work. I don't bother with Z-6, since I'm happy with the results between washes.

You know, I use Blue Coral Product X (can't buy over the counter) and after going on just ashort drive i get ALL KINDS of dust! It sucks sooo bad. 2 days ago was the first time I washed mycar without applying a coat of product X, way less dust, but I am not as happy with how the paint looks.

Dust tends to stick to any car surface, especially the rear due to the suction created by a moving car. If you Z-6 the paint and always have Z-6 as the LAST coat you have on the car it makes dust buildup much less than many other waxes. Also, if you dry your auto towels with a machine it tends to make them hold a static charge that transfers to the paint and makes more dust build up, air drying detailing towels is always best...

Thanks for the replies. Let me follow it up with this question, does Zaino itself promote static electricity that attracts the dust?

I always air dry my towels, but I have noticed quite a few shocks entering and leaving my car since I began layering my Zaino on. Maybe it is just the time of year or something else?

Z-6 is anti static, that is what you want as your final coat....

What the heck is a "shock"

Not shocks as in suspension, but as in a jolt of static electricity, like when you wear a flanel shirt on a winter day.

ESD = Electro Static Discharge. It has a lot to do with the humidity....instead of the towels that you use to rub your car with.

The rubbing of the car for removal of the polish in itself creates static, just like rubbing your foot back and forth on a carpet. Towels with static make it even worse. The Z-6 will remove virtually ALL the static from the surface, if using a towel that was air dried.
