Default *sigh* im gonna cry. /rant

I've had my baby for about a month now.... only a month! And now she's starting to develop some pretty serious rock chips mainly on the front bumper. So I did a search to see how the flying mother refrigerator to repair them. I expected the worst, and got it. Everyone keeps saying the only thing you can do is repaint/buy a new bumper. If you want, get a clear coat 3M bra to help. Then everyone starts saying it looks bad from up close blah blah it might be difficult to detail the car blah blah if installed..... UGH. Factory Nissan paint FTMFL!!!!!!!!!!

I feel so sad. I love my Z... I want to take super good care of her =[ it doesn't help when I have to constantly worry about my front end!

Oh! And Cal Poly Pomona doesn't f***** help when the roads around the campus are FILLED with pot holes/loose gravel/cracks and dips. I mean WTF. I'm going to call the city and B I T C H! Yesterday after parking the car at home, I inspected my tires. I always inspect my tires, and the car in general, to see what's going on. My left rear tire has some missing/chipped rubber on the outer side (on the actual tread) just near where the tire curves. My reaction: "................................... W T F!!!!!!!!!!!" Must have been one of the gazillion pot holes I went over (and seriously, I don't speed on those roads at all because of the fact that I know I can damage the car).

One month of owning my precious Z and I'm already frustrated. I think I'm going to have to start commuting with my Integra GS-R to school as opposed to rockin my Z (but I love herrrrrrr ). Hate the clutch on that car though..... it's a weird @$$ clutch lol.

Sorry for the rant you guys, just had to let my frustration out a bit hehe.

You know, I've seen this rock chip solution online before.... I forgot where I saw it... Apparently all they did was spray something and wipe it off with a microfiber towel and WALLA! Majority of rock chips gone. Yeah, right.

Did I mention that my mechanic (while repairing my rear axel click) hit a damn wall with my car on the passanger side bumper/fender? the jerk said he'd paint my whole bumper (and at this point I was like eeeeeeeeeeeeeee! no rock chips woot!) and NOT to my surprise, he lied. Only fixed the damage done. But yeah, don't trust anyone driving your beautiful car because they'll bang into something and not tell you.

I rarely got rock chips when I maintain my space from others in front of me.
Rocks dont float in the air like bugs.

You could keep the Z in the garage, and take it out periodically for photos. Plenty of pristine garage queens here.

LOL no way! She's too much fun to drive for me to stop. I keep my distance too! I'm a safe driver, never hit anything in my life. And I don't like to tailgate anyway because you cant scan the road ahead of you when you do that.... so.... I guess it's mainly the roads over in the pomona area. Seriously. They really, really suck.

I had a clear bra instaleld in my bumper. Definitely saved it from rock chips, but you can tell it's there. This is dependent on the quality of the install. Also, consider that the clearbra will probably have to be replaced every 5 years or so (from what I was told at time of install). Personally, I'd just accept the fact that you're gonna get rock chips. Either have it repainted, or use it as an excuse to buy an aftermarket bumper. There's basically only so many things you can do...just enjoy the car.

omg really tell me more about yourself because I am actually interested in what you have to say especially related to concerns about paint damage to your car I wasn't just using your complaining about something as trivial and unimportant as rock chips in paint as a basis for making jokes on an otherwise uninteresting topic no really

wtf is your problem? chill the hell out. and maybe if you used proper grammar, it would make it a hell of a lot easier to understand your english because after you said "complaining" I totally lost you.

And Sinzz, yeah that's what I'm most likely going to do. Anything to help the paint. I'm most likely going to repaint it, then apply the coat.

Mike, was your car brand new when you bought it? Take pics of the rock chips that you're talking about. Cal Poly's roads do suck, I hate going there. Car feels like a POS when all the gravel is making ding dong sounds in your cabin.

Op, what you should have done was get aftermarket bumper right away when you bought the car and store your stocks... Later on, you can always sell the bumper and be able to reimburse for at least the cost of paint. This way, your stocks stay in pristine condition and you get to play with different styles of bodykits. Know what I mean?

Man.... I dont want issues with you. If you're telling me you've never ranted before, please.... I'm sure you're just as concerned about your paint as I am. I don't know about the rest of the people on these boards, but I care about small imperfections. I know that these chips are inevitable, but maybe you didnt catch why I'm so frustrated.

Oh, also, to make you feel better... I was like that when I first got my car. Loved every pixel of it to death, and even the slightest imperfections would make me upset. Just get an aftermarket bodykit and you will love your car again.

Boba, yeah so you know how those roads are! I'll take pictures when it stops raining. They're not as serious as some I've seen, but enough to make me concerned. No the car is an 03 with 60k miles. The bumper had SOME chips but not this many, especially at the lower end of the bumper, and I've got this scrape on my left front fender. Again, when it stops raining, I'll show.

... So I did a search to see how the flying mother refrigerator to repair them...

I think he is replacing "flying f***k" with "flying mother refrigerator". I just wonder if such an association of words is the root of something deeper that you may want to talk to us about? LOL... I'm just playing.

I got chips all over the bumper AND the hood! Plus I have a black z so its very noticeable. At first I honestly wanted to cry like a girl but instead I cried like a man. Now I don't care so much cause I realize that I see it more than other people and the car still looks amazing after a nice detailing. I will one day get the nismo v2 bumper and probably fix the rest of the front paint at the same time.
