Default Best Car Wash Soap

Sorry for being a thread *****, but it's finally getting nice out and I can hand wash my car again.

I'm upset with myself because I forgot to get Chemical Guys Citrus Wash when I was putting in my last order at DI.

But for my detail this weekend I am going to pick up some over the counter suds.

What is the best over the counter soap that will strip away the most contaminants or your favorate that you use on a weekly basis? What have you found to be the Best/most effective that you can buy at Autozone or Walmart.

few examples:

Turtle Wax Ice
Meguires Gold Car Wash
RainX

Also with Chemical Guys Citrus Wash, I understand it does an excellent job stripping old wax, contaminants, and such, but is it good for every day use?

For example after I have freshly waxed my car. Will it strip away the new wax I put on? Should I only use the Citrus Wash when I plan to detail my car after?

Thanks!

I use "Turtle Wax Ice" weekly and it works really well. Only need a cap full per bucket so it lasts forever and it smells good

I've been using the Turtle Wax Zip Wax wash soap for several years.

If you are planning to detail it afterwards, I'd go dawn dish soap. I like to use this because it cuts to the cc. I don't use it often, only when I want to strip the old wax off.

The purpose of a dedicated car wash is to NOT strip wax. General consensus is that a soap such as dishwashing detergent is BAD for wax. Although I have not seen any objective evidence.

I also use "Turtle Wax Ice", and I love it. Even without a wax it leaves a nice "wet" look.

Lately until the weather started to warm up i was using optimum no rinse with warm water so my hands didnt freeze then follow that up with some poor boys quick detailer. When its warm i use whats left of my zaino car wash till it runs out.
