Pollen question
just got my z about 2 weeks ago, and its black so im trying to keep it clean but its near impossible with this pollen! yesterday i washed and waxed it then woke up to a green car. Now my question is can i just use a soft microfiber and wipe off the pollen cause it's soft or would that risk leaving small scratches?
thanks!
thanks!
Pollen is something we just have to live with... wiping it off will scratch or mar the paint. Best thing to do is wash it a couple times a week and keep a spray detailer on the paint so it's easy to remove and keeps your paint looking good in between waxes.
NEVER just try to wipe off the pollen, as you stated it will simply cause tons of visible scratches. The easiest/best method for me is to lightly spray it off using the hose at home or the "spot free" rinse at the car wash.
I'd suggest giving the vehicle a very quick wash with the Optimum (OPT) No Rinse Wash & Shine New Formula. It's the fastest way to wash as safe as you reasonably can. This product has been a huge help to so many detailers!
ok ill probably try some of that OPT car wash. and does the spot free rinse at the car wash actually work completely?
also have any of you guys used thise california duster for it? i was reading around the internet and a lot of people saying that work good for pollen without hurting the paint but im not sure if theyre right according to what you guys are saying

No but you can put a bee cage next to the car. In 24 hours all the pollen will be honey. Put it on your pancakes for a delicious treat.

I was right about to suggest this.
The only thing you need to do it make sure your car is cool before you use it otherwise the wax on the duster will get on your car.
It helps to wrap it in newspaper when you fist get it and heat it up to remove excess wax.

I have a California Duster and have never had a problem with scratches. Of course, my car sleeps in the garage so the dust is easy to remove. If your car sits outside, I would suggest the ONR or instant detail to clean the car daily.
I doubt a California Duster would do much good if your car has been sitting outside overnight. The car will get dew that will make the pollen adhere to the surface. If that is the case, you might get some instant detailer, Optimum No Rinse or waterless wash.
