window streaking
hey guys, I have a question to all the detailing oriented people.
every time I wash my car and clean the windows, i get streak no matter what product i use. I have used windex, Armor All window and glass, and even special mirror spray and yet i constantly have streaks, it looks terrible. i really dont get how im getting these streaks. anyone have advice?

What are you using as an applicator? I use Windex for Automobiles (ammonia free) and the Orange microfiber cloths from Target in the automotive dept. I used to get streaks with paper towels, not with the micro fiber cloths, make sure after you wipe the cleaner on you buff it out.

If you add one cleaner after another you end up with a concoction of products on the window. Its like mud.
Once I washed the windshield. Looked pretty good. Then I went over it with coat of Black Magic wax and white towel. I was amazed how much dirt came off on the white towel.

you should only use new microfiber rags and only use them for your windows.dont wash them with the rags you use with other stuff.

Here are some of my tips. Make sure you work in the shade and glass is completely cool. Don't overly saturate the cleaning cloth. Use at least 2 - 3 towels. One to clean with and a second or third to buff off the residue. For more tips I highly recommend you check out our detailing guide - glass care section.
