Newbie Questions
First, let me start by saying that this detailing forum is extremely comprehensive (at least compared to other car forums).
I just bought a Nissan Murano two weeks ago, and am about to apply some CG to it this weekend. Here are my questions:
1. Should I assume that the dealer waxed the car? I have absolutely no idea as to whether or not they did.
2. Should I consider the clay bar even though the car is still relatively new?
3. Dare I ask whether I should use Dawn to wash off any dealer wax?
My apologies if these questions have been asked a million times. Can't spend all day on the internet at work.

1) no, don't assume that. And I'd bet that if they did it was an inexpensive carnauba that won't last long.
2) Yes. Why not ensure that your car is clean of impurities? I don't know where the Murano is made, but the odds are it travelled by rail to get to Illinois, so it will have some rail dust on it, which is fairly corrosive. Claybar will remove that.
3) Yes, use the dawn to remove prior wax and then apply your choice.
Good luck and enjoy the new truck!
